(Mark Rothko) is happy to be back at The Rep for his 11th production in as many years. He is the Artistic Director of Peking University’s Institute of World Theatre and Film in Beijing, China. During his 12 years in that position, he has produced and/or directed more than 80 plays, including the China premieres of many Western plays. Joseph’s past Rep credits include: Prospero/The Tempest

. He has appeared on stages in London’s West End, and in regional theatres throughout Great Britain. In America, Joseph has acted in theatres from New York to Los Angeles and at regional theatres and Shakespeare Festivals across the US. His many Shakespearean roles include: Hamlet, Macbeth, Lear, Richard III, Antony, Shylock, Brutus and Falstaff. He has also performed in dozens of contemporary plays, (dramas and comedies) and in numerous musicals, in such roles as: Don Quixote, Tevye, and Sweeney Todd, to name only a few. In the early 80s, he guest-starred on television in such hits as: “Knight Rider” & “Fantasy Island,” among others. He writes for stage and film, including his latest screenplay, “Outrage,” starring Nicholas Cage, currently filming in China.
