Frost/Nixon
by Peter Morgan 4/23/2010 - 5/9/2010
Directed by Gilbert McCauley
How did David Frost, a famous British talk-show host, elicit the apology that the rest of the world was waiting to hear from former President Richard Nixon?
“One of the year's best plays. Smartly crafted...riveting, thrilling...and sure to command your attention every single, juicy minute. – Michael Sommers, The Star-Ledger
This fast-paced Tony Award-nominated play showcases the determination, conviction and cunning of two men as they square off in one of the most monumental television interviews of all time.
“A prize fight you watch with the kind of fascinated delight that's rare in the theater." – Clive Barnes, New York Post
In one corner stands David Frost (Brad Heberlee), a media jack of all trades with a jet-set lifestyle and a penchant for flashy suits, exuding imperturbable self-confidence and a desire to do something important. In the other corner sits Richard Milhous Nixon (Keith Langsdale), reviled in his own country with his reputation in tatters.
“Peter Morgan's play lights up the stage with theatrical fireworks!" – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Profoundly evocative and vibrantly written by Peter Morgan, Frost/Nixon is an exhilarating, intellectual David and Goliath battle of wits as Frost attempts to “give Nixon the trial he never had.”
