With classes for Kindergarten through Adult students in acting, musical theatre, improvisation, theatre dance, and tap dance, classes below are organized by age. Creative Movement | K - 2nd Grade

In this class, young actors will use their voices, bodies, and imaginations as tools to create new characters. With exercises and games rooted in creative play, students will gain confidence, sensory awareness, focus, improvisational skills, and the ability to collaborate within a group. Share what you’ve learned in an informal showcase for friends and family.

Dive into the foundations of acting technique and improvisation in this fun and collaborative class! Musical Theatre | 3rd - 5th Grades

Discover the fundamentals of musical theatre technique by integrating acting, singing, and simple choreography in the development of Broadway repertoire. Students will learn proper vocal technique, body awareness, acting through movement, and how to work within an ensemble to tell a story. Apply your skills in an informal showcase for friends and family.

Expand on principles of vocal technique, music theory, Broadway repertoire, expression of character through movement, and learn how to elevate performances by making specific and unique choices on stage. Apply your skills in an informal showcase for friends and family.

Teen Ensemble | 9th - 12th Grades

Education at The Rep is proud to unveil TEEN ENSEMBLE, an audition-only performance class featuring the top high school-age singers, dancers, and actors in the area. This small company of pre-professional actors will meet weekly for advanced training and rehearsals, diving into challenging musical theatre repertoire and scene work in the development of an original showcase.

Get moving in this fun, high energy dance class focusing on Broadway-style choreography. Learn jazz and theater basics through warm-ups and practice picking up choreography in theatre combinations. Intro to Tap Dance | 8th Grade - Adult

Make some noise in this introductory course laying the foundation of tap dance technique. With warm ups and drills focusing on tap dance vocabulary, clarity of sound, and rhythmic variety, use your new skills in learning beginning tap choreography. (Tap shoes required.)

Advanced Beginner Tap | 8th Grade - Adult

Make some noise in this course that builds upon the foundation of tap dance technique. With warm ups and drills focusing on tap dance vocabulary, clarity of sound, rhythmic variety, aesthetically quality, and the beginnings of improvisation, students will apply their skills to rhythm and show tap choreography. This class is not for a true beginner. Students must have a basic tap dance vocabulary including shuffles, flaps, paradiddles, etc. Tap shoes required.

Acting Sampler | Adults

Always wanted to take an acting class? Coming back to the theatre after taking a break? Want to amp up your skill set for an upcoming audition or performance? Now is your chance to experience a variety of acting techniques and performance styles in a collaborative and supportive environment. With exercises that heighten awareness, develop improvisational skills, create honest relationships with other actors, and instill confidence within expression, students will apply these techniques to monologue and scene work at the end of the semester. With different material every semester, new and returning students are welcome.

Improv - Level 2 | Adults

This high-energy improv class takes student's skills to the next level! Live in the moment, think on your feet, and build upon the principle of “yes, and...” by diving into introductory scene work. Through fun and imagination games and exercises, students will learn how to create memorable characters quickly, explore onstage relationships, and develop the storytelling tools needed for long-form improv.
