Avery Royal, a native New Yorker, began his dance training at the age of 9 studying Tap then Jazz and Ballet at the age of 12. He has trained at Broadway Dancer Center in New York and Broadway World Academy in New Jersey. He holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts in New York and Los Angeles. Avery has worked with amazing choreographers such as Jon Engstrom, Jane Lanier, Lane Napier, Crystal Chapman, Ray Hesselink and Kim Hale. Avery is an active member of the theatre community having performed in shows throughout the U.S. including: Memphis, Mamma Mia!, My One and Only, High School Musical, 42nd Street (Drama Critics Circle Nominee) and A Chorus Line. Avery can also be seen appearing on episodes of Teen Wolf, The Neighbors, Glee and a few commercials. Avery looks forward to sharing his love of dance and performing with the next generation of dancers!
Joi Hester, MD is incredibly excited to be a part of another wonderful show at The Rep, her fourth, and perhaps last, production before starting residency training. Joi trained at Ballet Arkansas, Houston Ballet, and the Broadway Dance Center. Rep credits include A Chorus Line (Connie Wong), The Who’s Tommy (Ensemble), and Evita (Ensemble).Graduate Registered Physician by day, performer by night.
