For the many patrons who have enjoyed The Rep since its founding in 1976, it seems like just yesterday that we moved from our small space in the old church to Main Street more than 20 years ago.
REPrise was a $6 million capital campaign to enhance Arkansas Repertory Theatre's patron amenities, expand arts education opportunities, enliven the artistic experience and invigorate the Theatre's presence on Main Street. Akansas Repertory Theatre ended its capital campaign on January 31, 2011, having exceeded its goal of $5.4 million and securing a $600,000 Challenge Grant from The Kresge Foundation.
Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson were the honorary chairmen for the capital campaign, in addition to executive leaders Barbara Bova, Lee Brown and Brian Bush. Helen Buchanan, Chuck Cliett, Bob East, Catherine Hughes, Wilson Jones, Chip Murphy, Cindy Murphy, Bill Rector, Rett Tucker, Kaki Hockersmith, Ruth Shepherd, Steve Strickland, Laura Landreaux, Annamary Thompson and Adam Melton completed the capital campaign cabinet.
With project architect Terry Rasco (Witsell, Evans, Rasco) and contractors Bob East (East Harding Construction) and Charles Marratt (C/M Restoration & Remodeling), the final phase of the campaign will completely revitalize the theatre spaces, lobby spaces and patron seating areas beginning July 1, 2011.
