The Arkansas Repertory Theatre exists to produce diverse theatrical works of the highest artistic standards.

As the state’s largest non-profit resident theatre company, we employ guest artists from across the country and local artists to produce works – created, rehearsed and built in downtown Little Rock. With a focus on dramatic storytelling that illuminates the human journey, ranging from contemporary comedies and dramas to world premieres to the classics of dramatic literature – our work serves to entertain, engage and enrich local and regional audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Our organization relies on season subscriptions, special events, foundation support, corporate & individual donations, and funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and Arkansas Arts Council. The Rep’s auxiliary group, Friends of The Rep, contributes time and energy to support the theatre through ushering, fundraisers, and organized events. We also receive local community support from more than 400 volunteers who usher for The Rep’s productions.

As a frequent host to civic groups and non-profits for special events and workshops, The Rep also serves as a co-producer on the bi-annual legal spoof Gridiron and frequently engages in co-productions with other regional theatres and local organizations such as Acansa, Ballet Arkansas, the Arkansas Arts Center, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts.

We regularly bring Tony Award-winners and other nationally recognized artists to The Rep’s stage and we are consistently recognized locally as the Best Live Theatre and the Best Performing Arts Organization by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Arkansas Times.
