Box Office Associates

Focusing on assisting patrons in purchasing single tickets, subscriptions, or gift certificates, the Box Office Associate acts as the principal point of welcome to the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Offering the highest levels of customer service to patrons in person, by telephone, and by email ensuring that each patron’s experience is enjoyable, Box Office Associates must be knowledgeable, courteous, and offer service with a smile. This is a part-time position that offers shifts during daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Previous customer service experience required and familiarity with customer relations management software, particularly large databases, preferred.

Properties Assistant

The Rep is seeking a skilled Properties Technician to join our staff.  The Properties Assistant works with the Properties Director in building and maintaining the props required for all of our productions and events.  They take on a wide variety of projects for each production, and while their primary focus will be on carpentry and graphics, many other skills can and will come into play.  Requirements include an applicable technical theater degree or equivalent training or experience, and a full range of skills, which should include several (but not necessarily all) of the following:  carpentry, graphic design, furniture building, upholstery, stitching, draperies, sculpting, casting, foam work, puppet making, painting, faux finishing, metal working, electronics, and/or building practicals.  Other general requirements include being comfortable working at height and the ability to lift 50 pounds, computer skills, strong communication and collaborative skills, and a healthy sense of humor.  Prior experience working in a professional prop shop environment is preferred, but not required.

Lighting and Video Supervisor

The Rep is looking for an experienced lighting and video specialist to join its production leadership team.  The position’s primary responsibilities are interfacing with designers and staff to coordinate and realize lighting and video designs for all Rep productions, designing 2-3 shows and events per season, and supporting all in-house lighting related activities.  Other responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, and supervising full time lighting staff plus overhires, creating and administering departmental budgets and schedules, and inventory maintenance.  Some show running will also be required for larger multi-crew shows. 

The Rep produces a 5-6 show season of plays and musicals plus events, presentations, rentals, and partnerships with other local performing arts organizations.  We are looking for an accomplished professional with a full range of skills and experiences.  Qualifications include an applicable technical theater degree or equivalent training and professional experience in both design and technical support of designs, a minimum of two years of supervisory level experience managing lighting designs and installation, crews, and inventories in a theatrical setting, expertise with ETC control systems, moving lights, LEDs, and other advanced technologies, experience planning and fabricating custom practicals and effects.  Video responsibilities are less frequent or complex, but familiarity with Watchout, Isadora, and/or and QLab Video, projectors, lenses, and networking are important skills.  General requirements include dedication to the work, a strong sense of humor, being comfortable working at height, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and strong troubleshooting, planning, communication, and collaboration skills.
