Registration is Now Open for Fall Classes!

The Rep offers a wide variety of training for artists of all ages and experience levels. Classes run various lengths from September 9 – November 14 and are listed below by age. 

Class sizes are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once full, students’ names can be added to a waitlist by emailing [email protected]. Waitlisted students will be contacted if spaces become available.

All education programs are held at The Rep’s Education Annex located at 518 Main Street, Little Rock, AR, 72201

Tuition, Scholarships, and Payments

Tuition payment plans, as well as full and partial need-based scholarships, are available for all education programs upon application. For more information or to apply, visit TheRep.org/scholarships. 

Scholarship applications for Fall Classes are due by August 26. If you are applying for a scholarship, do not also register online as refunds are not available.

Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Acting and Creative Movement | K-2nd Grades

In this class, young actors will use their voices, bodies, and imaginations as tools to create new characters, atmospheres, and narrative. As media changes, so do the voices that create it. In this youth-centered class, their voices will be tested through an array of forms in comedy that range from improv to spoken word. Students will learn a new form of comedic expression every 2 weeks with an opportunity to choose how they would like to PREACH! at their informal showcase at the end. Water and notebook are required. Teen Ensemble | 9th-12th Grades – Audition Only

Teen Ensemble is The Rep’s audition-only performance class featuring the top high school-aged singers, dancers, and actors in the area. This small company of pre-professional actors meets weekly for advanced training and rehearsals, diving into challenging musical theatre repertoire and scene work in the development of an original showcase. 

Auditions will be held by appointment only on Monday, August 12 from 5-8 p.m. Email [email protected]for an audition slot. Students must prepare a 16-32 bar cut of a song (preferably musical theatre repertoire) with sheet music and a 1-minute monologue. Spaces are limited.

Shakespeare Scene Study | Adults

Take a deep dive into Shakespeare text work through this intensive scene study class.  We will cover two plays in the class — As You Like It and Richard III — to give the opportunity to work on both comic and dramatic text.  Each student in this intimate class will work on a scene from each play, and dive into given circumstances, character exploration, partner work, and game play within Shakespeare’s classic text.  

Familiarity with using scansion and rhetorical techniques in Shakespeare is required. If no previous experience, please also enroll in the Shakespeare 101 workshop.

Intro to Playwriting | Adults

Have you ever wanted to write a play but didn’t know where to start? Here’s your chance! Creator of the ACANSA/Rep Ten-Minute Play Showcase, Hilary Trudell, will teach participants the basics of ten-minute playwriting. Participants will craft their own ten-minute plays and receive feedback on their own writing from classmates and a panel of professional playwrights. All completed ten-minute plays will receive an automatic submission into the 2020 Ten-Minute Play Showcase for an opportunity to be produced on a Rep stage! No experience necessary. Class participants need only arrive with a pencil and a desire to learn!

Improvisation | Adults

In this class, students will learn fundamental improvisational skills and how to apply them to their daily lives. Under the philosophy of “Yes! And…,” actors will heighten their ability to listen to understand, build relationships through an “attitude of gratitude,” and enhance their cognitive skills by building a community of support.
