ADVANCED TECHNIQUES WORKSHOPS

AN ACTOR’S INTENSIVE

For adult and young adult actors, 17 years old and up.  Participants will deep dive into an exploration of acting intention methodologies and techniques for the professional theatre circuit.

THE PLAYWRIGHT’S ART OF STORYTELLING

For adult and young adult writers, 18 years old and up.  Emerging and intermediate playwrights alike will come together to examine the intricate components to in-depth storytelling to transform words on a page into a script for the stage.

Both in-person and virtual attendance options available.

SONG INTERPRETATION

For adult and young adult singers, 17 years old and up.  Participants will explore techniques to mine lyrics, music, and context of songs to make detailed, informed choices for interpretation.  They will also explore musical, vocal, and physical techniques for realizing those choices in performance.  The series will conclude with a group “cabaret” performance for family and friends on Sep 29.

HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY | 10th-12th Grades

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s High School Academy is a cohort of students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of June. Students are selected for this six-week program through an application and interview process. Academy members rotate through various areas of operational aspects in support of our SummerStage Season – including but not limited to: scenic, costume, lighting, and sound design/production; stage management; front-of-house operations; marketing & fundraising; artistic administration. Students gain invaluable hands-on experience to prepare them for a career in the performing arts or nonprofit/small business management.

This paid internship program is generously supported by the Will Feland Family and The Windgate Foundation.
