The Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks a Communications & Marketing Associate to join its year-round, permanent team.  Working closely with the Executive Director, Patron Services Manager, and additional support during the intensive summer production season, the Associate will be responsible for:

  • -managing and creating written, graphic, and video content for use across all channels
  • -managing an active calendar for The Rep’s internal communication channels, including website, social media, email, direct mail, collateral, and production playbills
  • -managing paid media campaigns across all traditional outlets
  • -managing press coverage for productions, community programs, and special events
  • -developing partnerships with local businesses for co-promotions and in-kind sponsorships
  • -representing The Rep at select community events

Opportunities for individuals of multiple ages and experience levels

Position Summary:
The Scenic and Properties Associate, in cooperation with other members of the production team, aids in realizing the physical elements of the production within the constraints of time, labor, budget, and organizational policies. They will assist in planning, construction, and maintenance of scenic and property elements, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and collaborate with production teams to bring artistic visions to life. They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

-Position Type: Full-Time, Seasonal/Temporary; with expectation of a 40-hour work week

Responsibilities:
-Participate in the building, installation, and strike of scenic/props elements
-Support technical rehearsals by troubleshooting and resolving on-the-spot issues

Qualifications: 
-Experience working within a professional theatrical production setting
-Strong artistic abilities and creativity to visualize and implement designs that effectively convey the desired atmosphere and theme of the setting
-Proficiency in scenic painting/artistry techniques including color mixing, faux finishing, and glazing preferred
-Experience in carpentry, welding, rigging, and stagecraft techniques preferred
-Knowledge of theatrical lighting, sound systems, and stage machinery preferred

Position Summary:
The Costume Draper is responsible for overseeing the builds as part of the costume shop. They take the designer’s renderings, and with consultation from the designer, pattern cut, and supervise the construction of assigned builds for the production.  They lead a team including First Hand(s) and Stitcher(s). They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Position Type: Full-Time, Seasonal/Temporary; with expectation of a 40-hour work week
Term: April-September, with semi-flexible start/end dates
Salary: $685/week (overtime exempt)
Reports to:  Costume Supervisor

Responsibilities:
-Provide yardage estimates for built costumes
-Meet with designer and discuss each rendering piece by piece, determining details such as closures, trims, foundation garments, and any other design specific construction
-Pattern each costume, either by draping or flat-patterning
-Cut or supervise cutting of mock up in appropriate fabric from muslin to something similar to final costume
-Communicate with the Costume Supervisor about fitting needs
-Work through mock-up and fabric alterations while consulting with the designer on fit, proportion, trim placement, and closure placement.
-Alter patterns as needed
-Cut or supervise the cutting of the costume
-Fit in final fabric
-Attend a dress rehearsal to see assigned builds
-During strike, roll, bundle, and tie all leftover fabric to be returned/added to stock.

-Operate light board for all performances, working with follow spot operators, as needed
-Perform daily dimmer checks and system troubleshooting throughout each production’s run

Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Patron Services, the Box Office Associate is responsible for executing all sales and contribution activity, including all ticket purchases and donations to the theatre.  Understanding the importance of these (often initial) interactions to a patron’s ongoing relationship with the theatre, the Associate will play a crucial role in The Rep’s core mission- fantastic experiences for its audiences and supporters.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, with a demonstrated ability to create positive interactions with myriad personalities, sometimes under stressful, fast-paced conditions.  They will be comfortable communicating with the public over the phone, via email, and in person.  They will possess an extremely high attention to detail, with intensive organizational skills, and an aptitude for learning new software and systems.  They will have the maturity to handle confidential patron information.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Responsibilities:
-Field all phone inquiries and walk-in customers, as well as monitor general email address
-Working with a specialty POS system and database, process all subscription, single ticket sales, complimentary tickets, and donations
-Working alongside the box office full- and part-time staff, ensure that the Box Office is fully staffed during both regular business hours, and prior to each performance
-Answer patron questions about show content and audience experience
-Distribute tickets to patrons pre-performance, making last-minute adjustments as -necessary; Execute all onsite rush and waiting list sales
-Working with Front of House staff, ensure that all special needs are accommodated, including wheelchair seating and assisted listening devices
-Assist in the fulfillment of special patron benefits (e.g., parking validation)
-Assistant in management of cash drawer and perform periodic reconciliations as needed
-Maintain an accurate, confidential database of patron information; creating lists and cleaning information as needed
-Assist with special projects and general Box Office maintenance

Under the guidance of the Director of Community, Learning & Public Programs, the Community Programs Associate will play an integral role in the coordination and implementation of The Rep’s efforts to further theatre arts educational opportunities and community engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, and be able to create positive interactions with myriad personalities.  They will have demonstrated experience in working with youth.  They will possess an aptitude for theatre arts curriculum design and implementation. They will possess extremely high attention to detail, with intensive organizational skills, and have demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMY

Students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of June

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks a cohort of students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of June 2026 for our high school summer academy. Academy members will rotate through various areas of operational aspects in support of our 2026 SummerStage Season – including but not limited to: scenic, costume, lighting, and sound design/production; stage management; front-of-house operations; marketing & fundraising; artistic administration. Students will gain invaluable hands-on experience to prepare them for a career in the performing arts or nonprofit/small business management.

Employment Type: Part-time, seasonal student internship, with expectation of 32 hours per week
Term: June 15 -July 24; adjustable start/end dates will based on 2025-26 & 2026-27 school calendars
Stipend: $1,000 stipend

Successful candidates will have demonstrated interest and experience in at least one of the disciplines mentioned above.  They will have a love for the performing arts, and an appreciation for their importance in our shared community culture.  They will have a sense of humor, an unwavering attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve with myriad personalities and working styles.

AUDITIONS

The Arkansas Rep holds seasonal auditions each year in Little Rock, that are open to both union and non-union performers. Dates and information are announced here on our website as well as in local newspapers, and our social media channels. Actors Equity Association makes related postings, for both performers and Stage Manager submissions, via their regular channels.

Additional production-specific auditions, both virtual and in-person, local and in other cities, are announced individually.
