EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS

Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Lighting Supervisor, and working alongside Lighting/Sound Fellows, the Lighting Associate will play an integral role in the production of The Rep’s intensive SummerStage season.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in lighting design & production.  They will have an unwavering attention to detail and prioritize safety for themselves and others at all times. They will have a sense of humor and the ability to problem solve with myriad personalities and working styles.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Position Type: Full-Time, Seasonal/Temporary
Term: May-September, with flexible start/end dates
Salary: $600/week (overtime eligible)
Reports to:  Lighting Supervisor

Responsibilities:
-Operate light board for all performances, working with follow spot operators, as needed
-Perform daily dimmer checks and system troubleshooting throughout each production’s run
-Assist in hang, focus and implementation of all lighting and projection/media plots
-Assist in service and maintenance of equipment inventory and workspaces

Qualifications:
-2 or more years’ experience within a professional theatre or equivalent production setting
-Working knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment and systems*
-Ability to read and understand lighting plots and paperwork
-Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and at height in general

-ETC EOS line of consoles and ETC Nomad
-Intelligent instruments, LED tape, wiring of practicals,
-Vectorworks and Lightwright
-Theatrical rigging and a single purchase fly system

Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal/Temporary
Term: June-September, with flexible start/end dates
Salary: $20/hour
Reports to:  Sound Supervisor

Responsibilities:
-Serve as “A1” for all performances, operating/live mixing audio board and working with A2, as needed
-Perform daily system checks and troubleshooting throughout each production’s run
-Assist in installation of all sound plots
-Assist in service and maintenance of equipment inventory and workspaces

Qualifications:
-2 or more years’ experience within a professional theatre or equivalent production setting
-Working knowledge of multiple facets of audio production, including equipment repair, wiring, and live mixing*
-Ability to read and understand theatrical scripts and basic familiarity with theatrical stage management

Under the guidance of the Costume Supervisor, and working alongside fellow Associates, Costumes Fellows, and overhire stitchers, the Costume Associate will play an integral role in the production of The Rep’s intensive SummerStage season.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest and experience in costume design & construction.  They will have an unwavering attention to detail and prioritize safety for themselves and others at all times. They will have a sense of humor and the ability to problem solve with myriad personalities and working styles.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Note, The Rep intends to hire multiple costumes professionals for its 2024 Season.

Position Type: Full-Time, Seasonal/Temporary
Term: May-September, with flexible start/end dates
Salary: $600/week (overtime eligible) – $720/week (overtime exempt)
Reports to:  Costume Supervisor

Responsibilities:
-Organize and execute the construction of costumes as required by production designers and Costume Supervisor,
-Interpreting original design work, create custom patterns and builds, calculating yardage and needs; and help execute drafting, draping, cutting, construction
-Complete fittings, alterations, and maintenance of pulled or rented items
-Oversee finishing details
-Assist in restocking and organization/maintenance of shop spaces, equipment and inventories

Qualifications:
-2 or more years’ experience within a professional theatre setting
-Experience in multiple facets of costume design and production, including draping, patterning, fabric manipulation, crafting, and rendering
-Basic wig maintenance and make-up experience
-Ability to meet strict deadlines and multitask

Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Costume Supervisor, working alongside Costumes Associates and Fellows, and supervising overhire dressers, the Wardrobe Supervisor will play an integral role in the production of The Rep’s intensive SummerStage season.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in costume design and production.  They will be excessively punctual, have an unwavering attention to detail and prioritize safety for themselves and others at all times. They will have a sense of humor and the ability to problem solve with myriad personalities and working styles.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal/Temporary
Term: June-September, with semi-flexible start/end dates
Salary: $15/hour
Reports to:  Costume Supervisor

Responsibilities:
-Ensure smoothly-run performances that preserve the integrity of the original costume design for each production
-Coordinate and conduct costume changes, supervising quick change rehearsals
-Training and supervising overhire dressers, creating individual tracks
-Maintaining, laundering, and repairing all costume items
-Maintaining organized/clean dressing room, wardrobe, and wig/make-up areas
-Organizing costumes strikes

Qualifications:
-3+ years experience working within a professional theatrical costumes setting
-Basic wig maintenance and make-up experience
-Knowledge of AEA regulations and procedures

The Rep’s facilities include five+ principal and chorus dressing rooms, wardrobe/laundry area, and wig & make-up studio.  They also include a fully equipped costume shop with ample work spaces, fitting rooms, ample stock storage, and dedicated crafting area.

Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Patron Services, the Box Office Manager is responsible for executing all sales and contribution activity, including all ticket purchases and donations to the theatre.  Understanding the importance of these (often initial) interactions to a patron’s ongoing relationship with the theatre, the Manager will play a crucial role in The Rep’s core mission- fantastic experiences for its audiences and supporters.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, with a demonstrated ability to create positive interactions with myriad personalities, sometimes under stressful, fast-paced conditions.  They will be comfortable communicating with the public over the phone, via email, and in person.  They will possess an extremely high attention to detail, with intensive organizational skills, and an aptitude for learning new software and systems.  They will have the maturity to handle confidential patron information.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Responsibilities:
-With a team of part-time assistants, ensure that the Box Office is fully staffed during both regular business hours, and prior to each performance
-Field all phone inquiries and walk-in customers, as well as monitor general email address
-Working with a specialty POS system and database, process all subscription, single ticket sales, complimentary tickets, and donations
-Answer patron questions about show content and audience experience
-Distribute tickets to patrons pre-performance, making last-minute adjustments as necessary; Execute all onsite rush and waiting list sales
-Working with Front of House staff, ensure that all special needs are accommodated, including wheelchair seating and assisted listening devices
-Assist in the fulfillment of special patron benefits (e.g., parking validation)
-Manage cash drawer and perform periodic reconciliations
-Maintain an accurate, confidential database of patron information; creating lists and cleaning information as needed
-Assist with special projects and general Box Office maintenance

Qualifications:
-3 or more years of professional experience, preferably in customer service
-Basic knowledge of ticketing procedures and audience experience
-Basic financial acumen or experience with data management
-A love for the performing arts and familiarity with its professional operations

Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Patron Services, the Front of House Manager’s goal is to ensure that all patrons attending a Rep performance or event have a distinctive, enjoyable, safe, and accommodating experience.  They will manage performance operations, supervising a guild of volunteer ushers.  They will also manage bar & concession operations, supervising a team of employee bartenders.

Acting as The Rep’s “chief host”, the ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, with a demonstrated ability to create positive interactions with myriad personalities, sometimes under stressful conditions.  They will be a natural, quick problem solver with a strong work ethic.  They will have a high attention to detail, with a love for a clean and tidy house, and an eye towards safety.  They will support The Rep’s goals of being an anti-racist organization and will act as a thought leader in this work.

Salary: $720/Week
Reports to:  Director of Patron Services

Responsibilities:
-Ensure that lobby spaces and entrances/exits are ready for guests, as well as fully locked down at the end of each performance
-Monitor general safety conditions and supervise any necessary emergency procedures or security measures
-Working with Production Stage Management, ensure that performances begin on time and intermissions are run efficiently
-Supervise a guild of volunteer ushers, including recruitment, scheduling, and training
-Working with Box Office staff, ensure that all special needs are accommodated, including wheelchair seating and assisted listening devices
-Liaise with Downtown Ambassadors, as well as parking deck management, to ensure nightly presence
-Manage concession inventory, tracking reserves and interacting with multiple vendors for on-time stocking
-Supervise a team of employee bartenders, including recruitment, scheduling, and training
-Manage cash drawer and perform nightly reconciliation
-Serve as the friendly chief point-of-contact for patrons, welcoming them to The Rep and answering any questions

Qualifications:

-Working knowledge of event/crowd management and/or beverage service operations
-Experience with supervision of employees or volunteers

Salary: $18/Hour

Responsibilities:
-Recording of daily revenue from sales and contributions
-Coding, documentations, and reconciliation of company credit card purchases across the organization
-Processing of invoices and accounts payable
-Cash drawer reconciliation, deposits, and miscellaneous banking

-Generate and execute grassroots marketing campaigns, as well as influencer and groups outreach

UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE STUDENTS & EARLY CAREER INDIVIDUALS

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks a cohort of Fellows to support its 2024 SummerStage Season across all aspects of its operations.  These Fellowships are intended for 18+ year old individuals, in their early professional careers or currently enrolled in a higher education program (internship credit verification available).  Each Fellow will be assigned to a specific department with a dedicated professional staff mentor, gaining invaluable hands-on experience to prepare them for a career in the performing arts or nonprofit/small business management.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

The Arkansas Repertory Theatre seeks a cohort of students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of June 2024 for our high school summer academy. Academy members will rotate through various areas of operational aspects in support of our 2024 SummerStage Season – including but not limited to: scenic, costume, lighting, and sound design/production; stage management; front-of-house operations; marketing & fundraising; artistic administration. Students will gain invaluable hands-on experience to prepare them for a career in the performing arts or nonprofit/small business management.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated interest and experience in at least one of the disciplines mentioned above.  They will have a love for the performing arts, and an appreciation for their importance in our shared community culture.  They will have a sense of humor, an unwavering attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve with myriad personalities and working styles.
