Our volunteers gain exclusive access to the state’s leading producer of live professional theatre and are at the heart of The Rep family. From becoming an usher to providing hospitality for our visiting artists, we have opportunities for all.

FRIENDS OF THE REP / USHERING PROGRAM

We strive to provide legendary service to our patrons. As the face of The Rep, our Ushers are entrusted to be positive ambassadors who have a desire to serve and welcome patrons with a smile and an informed mind. All ushers are invited to stay and watch the performance, seating subject to availability.

By joining Friends of The Rep, you can also receive priority scheduling as an usher and receive a discount on any tickets purchased. Annual membership is $25 per individual.

(Note- Membership in Friends of The Rep is not required to be an usher.)

Ushers are asked to:

  • Arrive one hour prior to show times (show times are at 2 p.m., 7 p.m. or 8 p.m.)
  • Wear black pants or skirts and a white collared shirt or blouse. No T-shirts, please.
  • Serve as often as they like – once a season, once per show for an entire season or more than once per show as a fill-in volunteer
  • Handle tasks including assisting patrons, tearing tickets, passing out programs, greeting patrons and answering questions
